Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Today I will be ranking my top 20 Aphex Twin songs. Why 20? Because of his enormous discography, I am unable to rank only 10 songs. They're just so good!  20) Polynomial-C: I love the late 90s EDM vibe this song has. The airy, dramatic synths, the fast beats, they all work together so well.  19) Hexagon: This track has a beat. Surprising considering it's on Selected Ambient Works II . Anyway, this song has a really nice synth melody and surprinsingly hard hitting beat.  18) Cock/ver10: Very energetic and bombastic beats, glitchy melodies. It's just epic. And of course, we can't forget the Aphex Acid at 2:49. Unforgetable.  17) 4: This song is calm and upbeat at the same time. The super fast beat, the soothing synths and violin-sounding melodies.   Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today I will be reviewing the various singles and EPs that Mr. Richard D. James has released under the pseudonym, Aphex Twin. I will be doing this for every other band or singer I will be reviewing, if the said artist has enough. For example, The End of Electronics has only one single, and as such, I cannot make an entire review for only one song. With that being said, this might just be the longest post I have ever made, so strap in folks. This is gonna be a long one. ~~~ Analogue Bubblebath (1991) I know that this wasn't originally released under the Aphex Twin nickname, but I will still be reviewing it. Starting off the album we have the track, Analogue Bubblebath. It has a very clear 85-92 vibe to it, and is surprisingly calm and soothing to listen to. Than a sudden change for more intense melodies, Isoprophlex reminded me of the less beat driven songs on ...I Care Because You Do , squelchy sounding synths and glitchy drums...

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Aphex Twin's sixth studio album, Syro. Keep in mind that it had been 13 years since Aphex Twin's last studio album at the time of this record's release. While Mr. Richard's previous album, DrukQs, was a an absolute masterpiece, I have heard a lot of people bad-mouth this album for being to bland. Let's see if that's true...  Starting off the album, we have minipops 67. A rather calm beat-oriented track, mixed with some distorted vocal samples and an acid house-like synth. Towards the end of the track, more vocal samples are added in, which add a very nice feel to this song. A great start to this album.  Next we have XMAS_EVET10, with a slow beat, similiar to minipops 67, difference being this track brings in more synths, that add a very alien feel to it, just like any other song from this guy. My only gripe with this song is that drags on for way to long. I sure 10 minutes is a bit of an exagera...

  Welcome back everyone to the blog! Today, I will be reviewing Aphex Twin's fifth studio album, DrukQs. Cool story: This album actually exists because Mr. Richard forgot an MP3 player with almost 200 unreleased songs from him, on a plane and with the fear of these tracks being leaked online, he quickly put together an album, featuring some of these songs. However, from what I know, the tracks never got leaked so... yeah. Enough chit-chat, this album is long, let's get started! Disclaimer: A lot of these tracks have really weird names. And starting off the album, we have Jynweythek. It had a very oriental feel to it, featuring instruments you'd hear in a generic East-Asian setting. It was pretty slow and calm, giving off a great start to this album. Next we have a song that I had heard before, Vordhosbn. Welcome back everyone to my blog. Today, I'll be reviewing Aphex Twin's fourth studio album, The Richard D. James Album. After the rather odd experience that was " ...I Care Because You Do ", I wasn't really expecting anything very enjoyable from this album, but low and behold, I was pleasantly surprised! Let's dive in deeper... Kicking off the album with 4. A strong start with a fast, skiddish beat and some violin-like melodies. Some synth pads scattered about, made for one of the best Aphex Twin songs in his whole discography! Cornish Acid had a harder, but slower beat compared to 4, mixing in some acid-like sounds here and there. Another pretty good track overall. Then comes Peek 824545201, and this song is all over the place, mixing in synths and fast, squelchy beats. Not the best, but still pretty good. Fingerbib was the chill song of this album, like the Alberto Balsalm of this release. I had a similiar motif to 4, mixing in violin melodies with a beat, ...

Greetings everyone! Quick disclaimer, this will be a long post, so grab yourself some tea while you read. Anyway, today I will be reviewing Aphex Twin's second album, Selected Ambient Works Volume II. After the amazing EP that was 85-92 , I had high hopes for this album. With that being said, let's get straight into the review. Right off the bat, Cliffs (I will be referring to the fan names) was a great start to the album, it's main motif being a woman's vocals being repeated constantly over the soothing ambient chords. I could hear the woman say "песня" (pesnya), which means song in Russian. Then suddenly, Radiator was a pretty creepy song, with a repeating melody that sounded like a stock phone alarm for some reason. Even though it had some very eerie chords, it was overall a pretty enjoyable track. But then, after the song had ended, Rhubarb's calm, welcoming chords started playing, giving me a comforting feel and was overall just a super chill, meditat...

Greetings, everyone! How are y'all doing? I hope you're all doing great. Anyways, today we will be talking about the highly experimental Aphex Twin album, "...I Care Because You Do". This album, leaving aside it's cover lol, was quite a handful and left me with a weird taste in my mouth. The music was all over the place and the beats we're messy. Let's get a bit more in depth, shall we? The first song, Acrid Avid Jam Shred, was a pretty nice start to the album, giving off a hip-hop type beat, with a fuzzy synth melody alongside it. It was very noise-rich and had some weird sound effects here and there, but was overall a good song. The Waxen Pith had a very nostalgic vibe for some reason, but at the same, felt very melancholic, like something was coming to a close, like moving out of town, leaving your friends behind, seeing all the places you've been to fade away. I don't know, it just felt very sad and is one of my favourite songs o the album. Wax...

Welcome everyone to my music blog. Here, I shall be talking about different albums I have listened to. This week's post is about Selected Ambient Works 85-92 by Aphex Twin. Now, I had a vague idea of A.T.'s existence for about a year now, but the only songs I knew from him were Windowlicker, Come to Daddy and Alberto Balsalm. However, my interest in him grew once more when I was reading the 8th part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Jojolion, in which there is a pair of enemies called the A.Phex Brothers with their stands, Schottkey Nr.1 and Nr.2, respectively. So I looked up the song Schottkey Nr.1 and found the song, only without Nr.1, but instead with 7th Path, and so I gave it a listen. I really enjoyed and said to myself: "This song really fits the A.Phex Brothers." After that, I started to listen to more of Aphex Twin's music and decided to listen to the album Schottkey was part of, Selected Ambient Works 85-92. When I first read the title, I said to myself: ...
