  Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the debut studio album from Kendrick Lamar, Section.80. We all know this man, for sure, and given his recent reappearance in the public spotlight, I thought, why not review his modest batch of albums? So let's check out his debut. After a short spoken word segment, we get into F*ck Your Ethnicity, where we see Kendrick setting his first impression as someone who seeks equality, not caring about what colour you are. Hol' Up is one of the relaxed songs, with a very smooth instrumental and a smooth flow. The bars are clean, and the hook is very catchy. Next we have A.D.H.D., talking about how drugs have been a massive problem in people's attention spans. The instrumental is also very clean. The production on here is very well done.   Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the debut studio album from Metallica, Kill 'Em All. I pretty sure you know who Metallica is. World famous legendary thrash group, so let's see just see how thrashy their first album was. We open with the fast and aggressive, Hit The Lights, which has become one of my favourite metal songs ever. The fast drumming, the yelling and those solos, ohhh, those solos. Pure ear candy. Next we have The Four Horsemen, one of the band's more well known songs from this album. It's also the band's first 7 minute long song, and it well deserves that length. The guitar work, the vocals and the drumming are all great. Motorbreath is one of the lesser songs on here. Not quite as memorable as some of the other cuts on here. Jump In The Fire is another high energy song, and whilst not as fast as the opener, it still has a very catchy hook, and the solo at the middle is stellar. Next we have (Anesthesia) Pulling Teet...

  Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Kanye West's debut studio album, The College Dropout. After working as a producer for many big MCs at the time, we finally released his first hip hop album. Let's see what this fresh mind has to offer. The Intro skit features a man that sounds like he's constantly running out of breath, and then, we open with We Don't Care. At first, I found the song a bit off putting, however, with repeat listens, I started to enjoy it more and more. The production is also super clean. After a short interlude, we move onto All Falls Down, featuring a sample from Lauryn Hill. I love Kanye's flow on here, as if it dances around the singing in the sample. I'll Fly Away is a jazzy interlude, which leads us into my favourite song on the album, Spaceship.   Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the latest Radiohead album at the time  of writing this post, A Moon Shaped Pool. This album was released after Thom Yorke's divorce, and the band's producer, Nigel Godrich, losing his father. Thus, the album is somewhat of a mass exodus, where the band let's out all of it's mournful emotions out onto a musical canvas. Let's see how that turned out. We open with Burn The Witch, which revolves around a string arrangement and synth bass. Thom's comes in with the vocals, however they are incredibly reverberated, similiar to a The Weeknd vocal mix. Slowly, the song spirals into a powerful crescendo, as the strings start becoming more and more dissonant. Next we have Daydreaming, which is one of Radiohead's saddest songs ever released.   Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the debut album of super duo Silk Sonic, An Evening With Silk Sonic. This duo is comprised of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, and together, they worked on this throwback to the 70s R&B era. Usually, I wouldn't be inclined to check out some of these more mainstream artists, but after seeing the hype and listening to the singles, I aid why not give it a try. We open with the intro, setting the mood for the rest of the record. And then, Leave The Door Open is officially the smoothest song of 2021. This song is just a throwback to the 70s. The vocal harmonies are so soothing, the bass is just amazing, and so is the ear candy. Great opener. Fly As Me is the grooviest song on here. The bass work is dirty, but catchy. The vocals, again, are great. The organs also create a very unique atmosphere, filling the soundscapes. Next we have After Last Night, which is the sexiest song on this whole album.   Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the first half of Death Grips' double album, N!ggas On The Moon. On this first disc, the group collaborated with the legendary, Bjork. She provided the vocal samples that appear all over the record. We open with Up My Sleeves. Right off the bat, we are greeted to classic Death Grips noise. Ride is chanting, the drums sound powerful, the wall of synths penetrate through the mix, and the vocal chops here create a completely different vibe for the song. Usually, I don't enjoy vocal samples on a DG song, that's why I didn't enjoy Hustle Bones from The Money Store quite as much as the other tracks on there. Still, an amazing opener. Billy Not Really brings us a much more energetic song. The vocal samples form most of the main melody. The drums sound strong, Ride is screaming as usual. Yeah, this is a good song.   Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Radiohead's most political album, Hail To The Thief. This was the last record Radiohead would release under EMI's 6 album deal. Let's see how they would end their contract... We start with the moody 2+2=5. We open with some quiet guitar plucks, and Thom's usual voice. But then, it suddenly turns into a full on rock song. Then we get into a strummed guitar section, with some very paranoid sounding vocals. A very chaotic opener, but it sets the tone for the rest of the record. Next we have Sit Down. Stand Up, which opens with a quiet drum machine, xylophone-like plucks and atmospheric strings. The song is very quiet and ambiental for the first half. Then the Everything In It's Right Place vocals come in, with the weird pitch shifted effects. Slowly we spiral into another chaotic crescendo, similiar to the opener. The percussion goes crazy and Thom just keeps repeating "the raindrops". Sail...

  Happy Halloween everyone! Today, I will be reviewing Nirvana's sophomore release, Nevermind. After there rough, but acceptable debut , I was curious as to how the band would improve. These guys aren't legendary for no reason. Listening to this album, we see improvements on all fronts from the band. Plus, Dave Grohl is now on drums. Anyway, let's see what they have too offer on here... and we start with smells like teen spirit. very nice. then in bloom. very nice. come as you are. breed. and lithium. yeah the beginning of this album goes hard. Then we take a break from the hard rock with Polly, probably the band's darkest song. It only features an acoustic guitar and Kurt's raspy voice. The song is a tribute to a 14 year old who was kidnapped and tortured, the lyrics reflecting the perspective of the kidnapper. It's haunting, yet hard hitting. Territorial Pissings sounds like a more aggressive pop punk song. Kurt screams at the top of his lungs on here. Combine...

  Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Skee Mask's sophomore release, Compro. This was the album that really put this man on the map. And it's not hard to see why. We open with Cerroverb. An ambient piece full of SFX, field recordings, bassy, yet lush synth pad washes, glitchy melodies here and there. An amazing opener to the album. Next we have Session Add with rumbling basses, mechanical SFX, melodic beeps and lush synth pads. Next we have the grooviest song on here, Rev8617 has delayed drum work, glitchy steel-like plucks, more lush synth pads. Around the middle, Skee Mask brings in a fatter bass and quiets down the main melody. And afterwards we return to the beginning of the track. 50 Euro To Break Boost is more beat oriented, but still contains your standard Skee Mask style pads. Via Sub Mids continues on the breakbeat style of the previous track, only here we find not that many memorable melodies. It's a good track, but it doesn't h...

  Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the first album from Phoebe Bridgers, Stranger In The Alps. First of all, who is Phoebe Bridgers? If you've been around the indie scene for the past 4 years, then you've definetly at least heard her name. She is a singer-songwriter from 'Murica, best known for he gentle voice and diverse lyrical topic. This was her first studio album, but she released an EP in 2015. Anyway, let's get on to the review. We start with Smoke Signals, and right off the bat, we find gentle guitar strumming welcoming us into this album. Now, usually, my main focus would be the instrumentation, but here I cannot get lost in Phoebe's soft vocals. We also find a violin that works incredibly well with the echoey guitar plucks. One of the most beautiful openers to an album I have ever heard so far. Moving on, we pick up the pace with Motion Sickness, with a much groovier feel compared to the mellow opener. Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Queen's second to last album, Innuendo. This would also be the last album the band released whilst the legend himself, Freddie Mercury, was still alive. The album was released in February 1991, and only 9 months later, Freddie would die of AIDS-derived pneumonia. But let's try not to sadden ourselves here, you've come hear to read my review of the album, so let's jump straight in. As powerful drums and loud organ chords greet us, we open on the title track. Freddie describes the world, as a powerful instrumental booms behind him. This first section of the song is probably the band's most anthemic song. But it quiets down, as echoey vocals gentle sing over soft guitar plucks. Then suddenly, a flamenco melody performed by guitarist of legendary prog rock band, Yes, Mr. Steve Howe plays. The transition is so sudden, yet it works incredibly well. Then, just like in Bohemiam Rhapsody, an operatic section...

  Yup, we're here. The Dark Side Of The Moon. The album that is often considered to be the best album of all time. As always, I don't have anything else to say here at the beginning, so how about we dive head first into this record. We start the album with Speak To Me, which at first sounds like a collection of noises with no direction, but in reality, it's a foreshadowing of future events that will take place during the album. Cash registers from Money, clocks from Time, and then towards the end, Ms. Clare Torry's screaming vocals from The Great Gig In The Sky. Thus transitioning into Breathe. A slow, soft rock song with flutes, beautiful piano melodies, and an overall serene feel to it. Then the vocals appear, talking about how your still young, and still so much to do in your life. Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the follow up to A Night At The Opera , A Day At The Races. Let's get straight into this album. We start with the epic Tie Your Mother Down. What can I say? Killer guitar, powerful beat, amazing vocals, this is an amazing start to the album! In contrast, You Take My Breath Away is a soothing piano melody, with a few vocal harmonies sprinkled in for a great track. Long Away was a nice slow track, which for some reason reminded me of Wham's Last Christmas. It was another great song, none theless. The Millionaire Waltz, as the title implies, was a waltz style song, which started with mainly a piano, and Freddie's delicate vocal performance. Towards the end, they brought in a guitar and drums to give a touch of rock to this song.   Greetings everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the first album from the Belarussian post punk band, Nürnberg. For those who don't know, Nürnberg is a duo from Minsk, Belarus, the same place where Molchat Doma come from! This is their first EP, actually, however I feel like it should get it's own post. With that being said, let's jump into this record. We are greeted with the first track, Intro, which is driven by some haunting guitar chords. The song has a slow beat, and a juicy bassline. Already loving this EP. Next we have the title track, U Nikudy. This track is much more energetic and features actual vocals, these being very dark and loud, with a lot of effects on them. Overall, this track is amazing. Moving on, we have Patanuć. This one was a bit slower, with a more melancholic feel to it. The guitar on this track sounded especially nice. Next we have Los.  Hello everyone, welcome to my music blog. Today, I will be reviewing Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother. After the disaster that was Ummagumma, I am expecting a step up compared to that awful record. Let's just say that this album was something else. The first song is Atom Heart Mother Suite ,   so it doesn't count as a title track! Anyway this 23 minute monster starts with a powerful horn lead, followed by a much more quite synth driven section, which is then followed by a stellar guitar solo by David Gilmour, accompanied by some more horns. Then a choir takes the lead for the next 5 minutes with a hauntingly amazing performance. After that, a much more laid-back, guitar driven section, with some really nice organs backing it up. A few voices come forth to act as the bridge between this calmer part and a horn driven part. The horns are then followed by an incredible creepy section, featuring ominous sound effects, odd synth sounds and the sounds of living creatures. What'...

With the intention of spicing things up a bit during the reviewing of long discographies, such as those from Queen and Pink Floyd, I will be reviewing artists with shorter discographies. And this artist right her, has only 2 albums. Oh, well. So, who is this guy? Depresión Sonora is a Spanish artist who does makes post punk music, similiar to Molchat Doma and The End of Electronics . Only this time, it's   g r o o v y . Whilst Molchat Doma has cool, synthwave inspired tracks, Depresión Sonora has straight up vibe tracks. Anyway, I've talked to much, let's get into the review. The first track we have is Hasta Que Llegue la Muerte. Even though this track has a rather dark meaning, it has some energetic drums and really catchy guitar and hook. An amazing start to the album. Hey Ya! Welcome back to the blog. Today, I will be reviewing The End of Electronics' second album, Safety Guidelines. After listening to his first album, Union, and seeing how there was still room for improvement, I was hoping that Mr. Skarletov would turn the production up a notch. Well, all I can say is that he exceeded my expectations by a lot!  Starting off the album, we have the ominous Citizen. The vocals are much calmer and the guitar sounds really cool. The record is starting off strong!  Next we have Doppelganger, featuring a powerful synth lead and great vocals. Also, I should mention that the vocals sound much cleaner than in Union. Decadence had a slower beat and a more melancholic vibe compared to the previous 2 songs. The vocals felt sadder than usual and so did the guitar. Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog... and today I finally get to review the legendary Этажи (pronounced: etazhi)!!! Ever since I discovered Molchat Doma, I have always had a soft spot for this album. It it so well made and absolutely incredible. But let me explain why it is... Kicking off the album, we have На Дне. It starts off with a powerful, juicy synth bass and then a higher pitched lead synth. The beat is a bit slower, but is an absolute banger of a track! Also this is the opening track of the album, yet it seems to always played at the end of concerts. Anyway, the next song is Танцевать. It is super high energy and it is humanly impossible for me to not bop my head at the beginning drums. This song is once again, absolutely amazing!! Though what's ironic about this song is that it's title means "to dance", and the chorus says "I can not dance". Фильмы brings back the slower beat, but the epic bassline.   Welcome back everyone to the blog! Today, I will be reviewing Aphex Twin's fifth studio album, DrukQs. Cool story: This album actually exists because Mr. Richard forgot an MP3 player with almost 200 unreleased songs from him, on a plane and with the fear of these tracks being leaked online, he quickly put together an album, featuring some of these songs. However, from what I know, the tracks never got leaked so... yeah. Enough chit-chat, this album is long, let's get started! Disclaimer: A lot of these tracks have really weird names. And starting off the album, we have Jynweythek. It had a very oriental feel to it, featuring instruments you'd hear in a generic East-Asian setting. It was pretty slow and calm, giving off a great start to this album. Next we have a song that I had heard before, Vordhosbn. Greetings everyone! Quick disclaimer, this will be a long post, so grab yourself some tea while you read. Anyway, today I will be reviewing Aphex Twin's second album, Selected Ambient Works Volume II. After the amazing EP that was 85-92 , I had high hopes for this album. With that being said, let's get straight into the review. Right off the bat, Cliffs (I will be referring to the fan names) was a great start to the album, it's main motif being a woman's vocals being repeated constantly over the soothing ambient chords. I could hear the woman say "песня" (pesnya), which means song in Russian. Then suddenly, Radiator was a pretty creepy song, with a repeating melody that sounded like a stock phone alarm for some reason. Even though it had some very eerie chords, it was overall a pretty enjoyable track. But then, after the song had ended, Rhubarb's calm, welcoming chords started playing, giving me a comforting feel and was overall just a super chill, meditat...
