Top 10 Molchat Doma Songs

Image
Hey guys, what's up? Hope all is good! Today, I will be ranking my top 10 favourite Molchat Doma songs. I have decided that after finishing a band/artist's discography, I will be ranking my top 10 favourite tracks from them. Keep in mind that this is strictly my opinion and not anybody else's. With that being said, let's jump straight into the list! Note: This was EXTREMLY hard to make. So many great songs... 10)  Ответа Нет: This song has a slow beat, and an overall melancholic vibe to it. It feels very cold, as if this song is your partner and your relationship has soured. Anyways, this is a great song! 9)  Дома Молчат: Moving on to a much more upbeat song,  Дома Молчат has a very triumphant feel to it, and one of the best bass synths I have ever heard. 8)  На  Дне: As the opening track of  Этажи , it immediately tells you what this album is about. A dark bassline and powerful, but slow lead synth. Amazing track! 7)  Обрчен: This song has a slower beat, and much more

Molchat Doma - Монумент

Welcome back everyone to the blog. Today I will be reviewing the third album from Molchat Doma, Монумент (pronounced Monument). After the absolutely amazing album that was Этажи , I had some pretty high expectations for their next album. Did it reach those expectations? Absolutely!  Starting off the album, we have Утонуть. This absolutely beautiful track is mainly driven by some synth pads, however they feel so powerful and are just.... mmmmmmmm. Amazing! Just top notch song!  Next we have Обречен, which brings back the slow beat and the amazing guitars. This song has a more melancholic vibe, however it gets stuck in your head really quickly. This song feels like it's a rainy day, and your just sitting there, doing rather mundane things, and getting bored really of said things. Just another amazing song. The next song, Дискотека, brings back the energetic beat, similiar to Танцевать, and has that classic 80s synth pop vibe. It just another great song! Moving on, we have Не Смешно.

The End of Electronics - Union

Image
Welcome back everyone to my blog. Today I will be reviewing The End of Electronics' first album, Union. As I mentioned in my   Voskhod review , I found out about this one-man band because of my affinity with Molchat Doma. I listened to his first album, and have to say... this album is pretty good. Not the best, but still really good. Let's dive deeper into it, shall we?  Kicking off the album is Night. It has a really interesting vibe to it, feeling like it's the beginning of your journey, and look out the window of your vehicle, you see rural areas and small towns. That's the feel thus song gives me. It has an amazing chorus instrumental and is just overall really well made!  Moving on, we have the oddly melancholic Union. Not that there is anything bad with that, but the instrumental gives me a sadder vibe. It really cool, it feels like the journey has taken a break, and you stopped at a gas station. The vocals are really cool in this song, and adds up to another gr

Molchat Doma - Этажи

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog... and today I finally get to review the legendary Этажи (pronounced: etazhi)!!! Ever since I discovered Molchat Doma, I have always had a soft spot for this album. It it so well made and absolutely incredible. But let me explain why it is... Kicking off the album, we have На Дне. It starts off with a powerful, juicy synth bass and then a higher pitched lead synth. The beat is a bit slower, but is an absolute banger of a track! Also this is the opening track of the album, yet it seems to always played at the end of concerts. Anyway, the next song is Танцевать. It is super high energy and it is humanly impossible for me to not bop my head at the beginning drums. This song is once again, absolutely amazing!! Though what's ironic about this song is that it's title means "to dance", and the chorus says "I can not dance". Фильмы brings back the slower beat, but the epic bassline. Another great song, very simple, but very e

Aphex Twin - DrukQs

Image
Welcome back everyone to the blog! Today, I will be reviewing Aphex Twin's fifth studio album, DrukQs. Cool story: This album actually exists because Mr. Richard forgot an MP3 player with almost 200 unreleased songs from him, on a plane and with the fear of these tracks being leaked online, he quickly put together an album, featuring some of these songs. However, from what I know, the tracks never got leaked so... yeah. Enough chit-chat, this album is long, let's get started! Disclaimer: A lot of these tracks have really weird names. And starting off the album, we have Jynweythek. It had a very oriental feel to it, featuring instruments you'd hear in a generic East-Asian setting. It was pretty slow and calm, giving off a great start to this album. Next we have a song that I had heard before, Vordhosbn. It was a beat-oriented track, featuring some synth melodies in the background. It would worked on " The Richard D. James Album ". Kladfvgbung Mischk was another b

Aphex Twin - The Richard D. James Album

Image
Welcome back everyone to my blog. Today, I'll be reviewing Aphex Twin's fourth studio album, The Richard D. James Album. After the rather odd experience that was " ...I Care Because You Do ", I wasn't really expecting anything very enjoyable from this album, but low and behold, I was pleasantly surprised! Let's dive in deeper... Kicking off the album with 4. A strong start with a fast, skiddish beat and some violin-like melodies. Some synth pads scattered about, made for one of the best Aphex Twin songs in his whole discography! Cornish Acid had a harder, but slower beat compared to 4, mixing in some acid-like sounds here and there. Another pretty good track overall. Then comes Peek 824545201, and this song is all over the place, mixing in synths and fast, squelchy beats. Not the best, but still pretty good. Fingerbib was the chill song of this album, like the Alberto Balsalm of this release. I had a similiar motif to 4, mixing in violin melodies with a beat,

Molchat Doma - С крыш наших домов

Image
Welcome back everyone to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Molchat Doma's debut album, С крыш наших домов (pronounced S krishi nasha domov). First of all, who is this band? Well, I'm sure you remember  The End of Electronics' Voskhod , any earlier post of mine where I talk about his newest album. Well, the way I discovered TEoE was through Spotify recommending him to me. But he was recommended because I was listening to Molchat Doma on repeat. And since I love this band so much, I sais why nor review their whole discography (there are only 3 albums. sad). Alright, enough blabbering, let's get straight into it. And starting off strong with Дома Молчат. This song has some of the best synth pads and basslines I have ever heard. This song is just an absolute slapper! Then suddenly, a shift in tone, from the upbeat Дома Молчат, to the slow, melancholic Kрыши. And yet, such an amazing song! The dark bassline and slow guitar mixed so well with the deep vocals. Definetly one

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Volume II

Image
Greetings everyone! Quick disclaimer, this will be a long post, so grab yourself some tea while you read. Anyway, today I will be reviewing Aphex Twin's second album, Selected Ambient Works Volume II. After the amazing EP that was 85-92 , I had high hopes for this album. With that being said, let's get straight into the review. Right off the bat, Cliffs (I will be referring to the fan names) was a great start to the album, it's main motif being a woman's vocals being repeated constantly over the soothing ambient chords. I could hear the woman say "песня" (pesnya), which means song in Russian. Then suddenly, Radiator was a pretty creepy song, with a repeating melody that sounded like a stock phone alarm for some reason. Even though it had some very eerie chords, it was overall a pretty enjoyable track. But then, after the song had ended, Rhubarb's calm, welcoming chords started playing, giving me a comforting feel and was overall just a super chill, meditat

The End of Electronics - Voskhod

Image
Well hello there! How are you fine beings doing? Today, I will be reviewing The End of Electronics' newest album, Voskhod. First of all, a bit of context. TEoE is a one-man band, lead by Nikita Skarletov. He mainly does post-punk, similiar to another great band, Molchat Doma (tell me in comments if you wanna see reviews on them). I have listened to Mr. Skarletov's previous two albums, and must say that they are masterpieces (tell me in the comments if you want me to review them as well). Kicking off the album, we have The Rise. I didn't find it very memorable apart from the amazing bassline of the song. It had something to it, but it felt very comforting. Ring was pretty similiar to The Rise, not finding it very memorable as other songs, but enjoyed their basslines. Fire was a change for the better, with it having a faster beat. Alongside it's amazing guitar and much more enjoyable vocals than the previous songs. Speed for some reason felt much more ominous in tone, whi

AC/DC - Back in Black

Image
Hello everybody! Welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be talking about one of AC/DC's most beloved albums, Back in Black. This was suggested by a classmate of mine, and said why not, since I already loved AC/DC's music, why not listen to this. Right of the bat, Hells Bells, was an amazing start to the album. Even though it had a slower beat, it was still amazing. Shoot to Thrill was another great song and the drum oriented part around the middle of the song was a pleasant surprise. What Do You Do For Money Honey and Giving The Dog a Bone were pretty similiar, but still amazing. Loved the guitar work in both of them! Let Me Put My Love Into You was a bit slower, but still had a nice head-bopping beat and the guitar riff around the end, was just amazing. Back in Black was definitely my favourite song, because of it's epic drums and guitar riffs. Straight up epicness! You Shook Me All Night Long and Have a Drink on Me were another pair of great songs, the main attractions
