Queen - The Game

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. You know the deal, Queen, The Game, Anthony Fanta-, I mean let's jump straight into it. Play The Game opens on some reversed noises, rising into a soft rock song, with a nice driving piano, but a decent at best sounding guitar. The performance didn't impress me that much. Really was just a decent song. Next we have Dragon Attack, which was a much heavier and hard hitting song compared to the opener. The guitar this time sounded much more aggressive, and the bassline on here was especially nice. We see an upward trajectory for the album. funky bassline. it's my favourite song from queen. bites za dusto. Need Your Loving Tonight, however, sounded very cheesy. The vocal performance on this song is in no way impressing, or at least fun, like on Another One Bites The Dust. You could also replace the guitar on here with a synth, and it would sound the same. The solo towards the end was pretty sweet tho. it's a crazy little thing call

AFX - Analord

Image
Get comfy, 'cause this is gonna be a long one. Welcome back to my blog, ladies and gentlemen. Today, we are reviewing the 11 EP long series, 3 and half hours worth of  entirely analogue  material, Analord. I'm gonna review this similiar to how I review a Various Works post. Also, I will not be including the bonus tracks released in 2009. So, with that being said, let's go. ~~~ Analord 1: We start with Steppingfilter 101. Classic acid bassline, but a slower beat, however the stand out feature for me is the trippy, yet catchy towards the start. A pretty decent start to the album. Canticle Drawl had a saw bassline, and not much else. A lot of the tracks on these EPs are gonna be rather simple. MC-4 Acid was another slow acid house song, though not as catchy as Steppingfilter. Bubble 'n' Squeak 2 was a pretty nice track with a very soothing, airy pad. Where's Your Girlfriend was the first long song of this album. Why am I pointing this out? Well, quite a few song

Queen - Jazz

Image
Jeez, that was quite the post wasn't it, Dark Side is such an amazing album. Anyway, welcome back to my blog. Today, we are going to be reviewing Jazz. We start the album with Mustapha. The song's lyrics are actually just Arab-Persian gibberish. The song starts quiet, but suddenly erupts in volume and brings in the classic Brian May guitar. A pretty good start to the album. Fat Bottomed Girls. Need I say more? Jealousy was a slow song, which somehow sounds just like the emotion, in my opinion at least. I WANT TO RIDE MY BICYCLE If You Can't Beat Them is your standard Queen style hard rock song. That's it. Let Me Entertain You was OK. The vocals were OK, and the guitar performance was great, but it didn't really impress me. Dead On Time sounded just like Brighton Rock, and given how much I love that song, it's only right that this song is just as good. The guitar on this song is just so yes , and I don't mean that as in the band. It just sounded great! In Onl

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon

Image
Yup, we're here. The Dark Side Of The Moon. The album that is often considered to be the best album of all time. As always, I don't have anything else to say here at the beginning, so how about we dive head first into this record. We start the album with Speak To Me, which at first sounds like a collection of noises with no direction, but in reality, it's a foreshadowing of future events that will take place during the album. Cash registers from Money, clocks from Time, and then towards the end, Ms. Clare Torry's screaming vocals from The Great Gig In The Sky. Thus transitioning into Breathe. A slow, soft rock song with flutes, beautiful piano melodies, and an overall serene feel to it. Then the vocals appear, talking about how your still young, and still so much to do in your life. And then, all of a sudden, the beat gets faster, and a repeating synth melody. Loud footsteps echo here and there, a woman announcing different flights show that we are in an airport. Engi

Top 10 Nürnberg Songs

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be ranking my top 10 favourite  Nürnberg songs. As always, this entirely my opinion and if you disagree, feel free to put your lists in the comment section. With that beinng said, let's jump straight into the list. 10)  Usio Roŭna: The track is a great opener to Skryvaj , with a fast beat, loud vocals and beautiful guitar melodies. 9)  Intro: Short, but sweet, this song features slow guitar melodies and a very nice bassline. 8)  Nadzieja: A mean bassline and mournful vocals, this track is just beautiful. The guitar sounds amazing, and the synth is so soothing. 7)  Valasy: The guitar on this song is especially nice, and the synth pads sound so good, and create this serene atmosphere for this track. It's amazing. 6)  Trymaju: A slow, melancholic track with an incredible guitar, and beautiful vocals.  From here on down, it was extremely hard to pick... 5)  Žorstka: A slow, mournful guitar melody constantly plays during this so

Nürnberg - Paharda

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, we are going to be discussing Nürnberg's second studio album, Paharda. Their previous album was OK, and as such, I was expecting an improvement of their sound. Let's see if they learned anything from their previous album. We start with Abdymi, with a much more lo-fi sound. The vocals were loud and imposing and the bassline was much thiccer and menacing. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Next we Viera, a darker song, with a dark guitar, however the vocals didn't quite do it for me. This song was OK. Zorki has a powerful synth pad that fills the entire song. Melancholic guitar melodies, powerful drums, this is beautiful. Listy was less impressive. It really didn't leave that big of an impression on me. Trymaju was a slower song, with melancholic guitar melodies and a nice basline. The vocals sounded mournful, as if the singer lost something, and it sounds amazing. This is another great track. Adny was another nice

Queen - News Of The World

Image
Welcome back everyone to my blog. Today, we are reviewing The News Of The World, the 9 o'clock news, here on Queen TV. Tonight's headliner is We Will Rock You . Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that we have already discussed this topic, because everyone at the moment is legally obligated to sing the chorus to this song whenever it comes on. Our second headliner is We Are The Champions. Once again, the entire human population must know this song, otherwise they will be deleted off of this world. Next we have Sheer Heart Attack. Not the album, but the song. We have loud, energetic guitar melodies, with heavy punk influences. The fast drums and Mr. Freddie Mercury's vocals work together to create a bloody good song. We now have a sudden change of tone, with the rather melancholic, mainly vocal and piano driven All Dead, All Dead. We have a nice and simple song here, ladies and gentlemen, not much else to say. Spread Your Wings was, in our humble opinion, an OK track. We did

Pink Floyd - Obscured By Clouds

Image
Welcome back everyone to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Pink Floyd's Obscured By Clouds. Not that many people talk about this album, as it is sandwiched inbetween Meddle and TDSOTM. But, hey! We have to get through it if we wanna reach The Big 4. We start the album rather weakly with the title track, it's a slow guitar driven song, with little substance to it. The drums aren't anything special either. Really mediocre track. The next song is When You're In, which is, unfortunately, another mediocre track. Little to no substance at all. Burning Bridges was much better, featuring the first vocals of the album, and a slow, but groovy feel to it. The guitar sounded so nice on this track and drums were surprisingly soothing. A great song overall, also love the guitar solo towards the end. The Gold It's In The... was a really classic rock song. Just epic rock. That's all. Next we have Wots... Uh The Deal was a calm track. Nothing much to say. Classic Pink Floyd

Nürnberg - Skryvaj

Image
Greetings once again, ladies and gentlemen. Today, I am reviewing Nürnberg's first studio album, not EP, Skryvaj. Fun Fact: Roman Komogortsev of Molchat Doma helped mix and master this album, and also played a couple synth melodies on this record. This had me very hyped up for this album. Let's see if it really delivered on that. Right of the bat, Usio Roŭna is a highly energetic song with some absolutely  amazing guitar melodies and a super catchy bassline. One of the best starts to an album I have ever seen. Next we have Biessensoŭnasć. The guitar melodies were OK and the bassline was great, but the vocals didn't really do it for me on this song. Spać also had some rather weird vocals, but these ones were a bit more bearable compared to the previous song. The guitar melodies were also great on this song, and the bassline was also pretty nice. Staracca was a turn to the melancholic, with some slow guitar melodies and deep, distant vocals. Also, this track has a repeating t

Queen - A Day At The Races

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the follow up to A Night At The Opera , A Day At The Races. Let's get straight into this album. We start with the epic Tie Your Mother Down. What can I say? Killer guitar, powerful beat, amazing vocals, this is an amazing start to the album! In contrast, You Take My Breath Away is a soothing piano melody, with a few vocal harmonies sprinkled in for a great track. Long Away was a nice slow track, which for some reason reminded me of Wham's Last Christmas. It was another great song, none theless. The Millionaire Waltz, as the title implies, was a waltz style song, which started with mainly a piano, and Freddie's delicate vocal performance. Towards the end, they brought in a guitar and drums to give a touch of rock to this song. You And I was a nice, simple rock song, much shorter compared to other tracks on this album, but still a great song. somebody to love. need i say more? White Man was an epic rock song,

Pink Floyd - Meddle

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing Pink Floyd's Meddle. I have heard a lot of people saying that this is the precursor to the legendary, Dark Side of The Moon. Well then, let's see if it is so. Starting off the album, we have One Of Those Days, which starts with an energetic bassline and a powerful wind blowing in the background, also featuring  occasional organ chords. And then, at the 2 minute mark, a guitar emerges from beneath, however it is quickly filtered to sound like it's "stuttering". Finally, the track turns into a proper Pink Floyd rock song. A Pillow Of Winds was a simple, yet rather long, mainly acoustic song. Yeah, it was good. Fearless was a not so acoustic song, this time featuring actual percussion, however it still maintained it's calm demeanour, and then just before the 5 minute mark, a crowd starts singing. Another good track. San Tropez was another calm song, this time having a more jazz feel to it. Real

Nürnberg - U Nikudy/Mora/Kachannie

Image
Greetings everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing the first album from the Belarussian post punk band, Nürnberg. For those who don't know, Nürnberg is a duo from Minsk, Belarus, the same place where Molchat Doma come from! This is their first EP, actually, however I feel like it should get it's own post. With that being said, let's jump into this record. We are greeted with the first track, Intro, which is driven by some haunting guitar chords. The song has a slow beat, and a juicy bassline. Already loving this EP. Next we have the title track, U Nikudy. This track is much more energetic and features actual vocals, these being very dark and loud, with a lot of effects on them. Overall, this track is amazing. Moving on, we have Patanuć. This one was a bit slower, with a more melancholic feel to it. The guitar on this track sounded especially nice. Next we have Los. This track didn't do much more for me, personally. The vocals weren't anything

Queen - A Night At The Opera

Image
Greetings everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing what is often considered the best Queen album, A Night At The Opera. Let's see if that's so... The first song on the record is the incredible Death On Two Legs. This track has some astonishing vocal performances. Also I love how Freddie talks about how you can "kiss his ass goodbye". I just love that. And the guitar on this song is legendary. An absolutely amazing start to this album. Then we switch to a short piano driven song, Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon is a nice, fun track. Next we have the infamous I'm In Love With My Car, where Roger Taylor, the drummer of Queen, describes his then car is great detail and sings about how much he loves it. A bit too much actually... Moving on we have a much more laid-back song, that being You're My Best Friend. It's just another simple, but nice track, similiar to  Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon. '39 was a mediocre track in my opinion. The co

Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother

Image
Hello everyone, welcome to my music blog. Today, I will be reviewing Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother. After the disaster that was Ummagumma, I am expecting a step up compared to that awful record. Let's just say that this album was something else. The first song is Atom Heart Mother Suite ,   so it doesn't count as a title track! Anyway this 23 minute monster starts with a powerful horn lead, followed by a much more quite synth driven section, which is then followed by a stellar guitar solo by David Gilmour, accompanied by some more horns. Then a choir takes the lead for the next 5 minutes with a hauntingly amazing performance. After that, a much more laid-back, guitar driven section, with some really nice organs backing it up. A few voices come forth to act as the bridge between this calmer part and a horn driven part. The horns are then followed by an incredible creepy section, featuring ominous sound effects, odd synth sounds and the sounds of living creatures. What'
